A good wallet accompanies us for many years – and every day. Because a wallet is much more than just a wallet – besides coins, bills, debit and credit cards, it also holds shopping lists, health insurance cards, loyalty and bonus cards, driver’s license, ID card, sometimes photos of loved ones, and much, much more. It’s hardly surprising that many wallets are several centimeters thick.

The "organizational task" of a wallet is certainly one of the most important points. How is the wallet divided, how many compartments does it have? Which documents do you want to keep in your wallet? Can you access them quickly, for example at the checkout or ticket machine? Are the documents safely stored in the wallet and can’t get lost?

Material and Design
There are various options regarding material: high-quality leather, robust canvas, or durable polyester. The classic leather wallet is a very durable accessory that becomes even more beautiful over time. However, the selection of wallets made from synthetic materials is growing – important, for example, for vegans or if the wallet should be water-repellent, such as for outdoor activities.

Security
Security is also an important point for many people when it comes to wallets. Modern wallets offer so-called RFID blocking ("Radio Frequency Identification"), which protects against unauthorized scanning of credit cards and IDs. Some wallets also have hidden compartments. In general, every everyday wallet should be securely closable, for example with a zipper or a press stud.
