Fjällräven
Fjällräven backpacks and bags for outdoor fans
Fjällräven is the Swedish word for "polar fox" - and the Scandinavian answer to the spirit of adventure and modern pioneering spirit. Every Fjällräven rucksack combines tradition, innovation, design and functionality with light-hearted ease. For more than 50 years, Fjällräven has been inspiring outdoor enthusiasts who are inspired by the beauty of nature. The Kånken backpack, which can be adapted to the individuality of its wearer in different sizes and colours, is very popular. But regardless of whether it's the Kånken, High Coast or Skule - all Fjällräven models are timeless, functional, durable and inspired by nature.
The history of the Swedish quality brand goes back to a 14-year-old boy scout. In 1950, the nature-loving teenager Åke Nordin developed his first own rucksack in the basement of his parents' house in Örnsköldsvik in northern Sweden, which was primarily intended to fulfil one of the busy boy's requirements: maximum carrying comfort. None of the standard models were comfortable enough for the scout's adventures in the Swedish mountains. A wooden frame, a hard-wearing cotton sack and leather carrying straps: these were the pragmatic main components of Åke Nordin's first rucksack.
Ten years later, in 1960, the Swede founded his company under the name Fjällräven - with great success, as we know today. When developing new products, the Swedish label's designers orientate themselves entirely on the needs of their customers. The Fjällräven team regularly tests its rucksacks in the forest and mountains or on winter trekking tours and gathers ideas for new collections.
With its favourites, Fjällräven definitely brings a touch of Nordic freshness and lots of carrying comfort out into the big wide world...
